Nano Cidery
‘Gist’ means ‘yeast’. So yes, our name is a dutch pun which unfortunately doesn’t translate well.
We’re a ‘nano cidery’ based in the Flemish Ardennes, Belgium.
Nano meaning we are very small and we produce small batches.
Our ciders are made with local fruit, our hands and indigenous yeast and bacteria.
Nothing – and we really mean NOTHING – is added.
Unsprayed fruit, micro organisms, a lot of patience, measurements and, of course, tasting.
The result is a no-nonsense natural product from the orchard to your glass.
Unfiltered ciders that taste like a surprising natural wine or a sparkling old Gueuze.
Low in alcohol and full of probiotics.
more about our process
Cider makers on duty are Christophe and Britt.
Anargist was created in 2021, as it were, a marriage between a filmmaker with a great passion for wine and an actress with a fascination for microbiology.
Not averse to experimentation and development, we keep looking for old apple varieties, wild species, forgotten fruits…
and we eagerly test new assemblies and old methodologies.
At this moment several still and sparkling ciders are maturing.
They will become available from September 2023 onward.
